Military vehicles take center stage at WAAAM

Keeping with tradition, the May 9 Second Saturday events at the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum will feature the vehicles of the American armed forces.

WAAAM’s military fleet of airplanes and automobiles from World War I to the Vietnam War will be flying and driving as part of the action.

For some extra flair, the museum will be performing a small flag retirement ceremony at 2 p.m. as a test run for a much larger flag retirement ceremony in the fall with the aid of local Boy Scout troops.

By popular demand, the restoration shop tour will occur two times during the event — once at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. — so that everyone can see what it takes to keep living history truly alive and running.

As a thank you to past and current military personnel, the active duty American military admission price is complementary for the day (with service card) and veterans of any era will receive half priced admission for our May 9 Second Saturday event.
