Ken DeRouchie Band with Tracy Klas at River City May 30

The Ken DeRouchie band features Portland heavyweights like the incomparable LaRhonda Steele (known as the queen of Portland Soul), vocal powerhouse Arietta Ward, Muddy Award winning guitarist Jeff Knudson, Rob Busey, Alex “Popcorn” Milstead, Chris Lay, David Chachere and Ken DeRouchie. This soul/R&B outfit were nominated for the 2014 Muddy Award. Local singer Tracy Klas opens the show. Saturday, May 30, 9 p.m., 21 and over only. Friday, May 15, The Lowest Pair: Kendle Winter and Palmer T. Lee are following up their successful debut album with another fitting collaboration steeped in bluegrass, banjo and harmony-focused duets. Recorded in an old wooden church in Duluth, Minn., the music absorbed much of the environment in which it was created, resulting in a rich, heartfelt sound. Hop Trip at White Buffalo

Local band Hop Trip plays White Buffalo Wines on Thursday, May 14, starting at 6 p.m. Bart Popenoe, Ed Dietrich, Mark Daly, and a few special guests will share some heartfelt folk with a touch of funk. ‘Good People’ continues

Columbia Center for the Arts and CAST Theater presentation of the spring play “Good People” by David Lindsay-Abaire. Set in South Boston and gossiping and bustin’ chops is the name of the game. A funny, tough and tender story about the insurmountable class divide, the characters discuss the role luck has, or does not have in success, while they encourage the audience to rethink our relationships with others, our assumptions and our words. Red & Ruby perform May 29

Red & Ruby are jazz vocalist LaVon Hardison and swing guitarist Vince Brown. They team up on special occasions for a spirited romp through the roots of swing, jazz, and blues from the ’30s, ’40s, and beyond. Kit Garoutte at Griffin House

Get ready for Kit Garoutte’s “Finger Dancing Tour,” making a stop at the Griffin House in Hood River on Sunday, May 24. The new CD by fingerstyle guitarist Kit Garoutte features original songs and Kit's arrangements of works by artist as diverse as Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel and the Allman Brothers. ‘School of Music Choir’ May 15

The Columbia Gorge Fellowship of Churches presents a concert on Friday, May 15, featuring California Baptist University’s Collinsworth School of Music Choir & Orchestra. The concert will be held at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 508 9th Street, Hood River. Music starts at 7 p.m.
