Hawks Madness Nov. 20

Horizon Christian School will host its third annual Hawks Madness & Cake Auction Friday, Nov. 20 at the HCS gym. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., Madness start at 6. The event will include a boys and girls varsity basketball scrimmage, seventh and eighth grade team competition, 50/50 raffle, three-point soda shoot, half-court shot for $100. Those who show will be entered in for a “great mystery prize” drawing. Prizes also awarded for best cakes. Horizon is still looking for cakes for the auction — those interested can call Angela Bryan (541-490-6740), Misty Connely (509-637-5973), Karan Walker (541-387-4283), or Cathy Evans (971-373-5378). Funds go to HCS basketball programs.

Mariash Koudele takes fourth at Javelina Jundred

Ultra runner Jax Mariash Koudele of Hood River took fourth among women in the 100-mile “Javelina Jundred” event Oct. 31 in Fountain Hills. Her time was 20 hours, 23.55 seconds. Koudele owns Mariash Marketing and Stoked Roasters Coffeehouse in Hood River with her husband, Lance Koudele.
