‘Paws for a Cause’ event returns Oct. 15

On Oct. 15, the fourth annual Paws for a Cause silent auction and social event will be held by Hood River Adopt A Dog (HRAAD) at Springhouse Cellar Winery, 13 Railroad Ave., Hood River, from 5:30-8 p.m.

Join HRAAD for a fun evening of festivities with auction items and appetizers. The silent auction items will be available until 7 p.m., and then the live auction begins with items like timeshare weeks, guitars and art. Beverages will be available at a cash bar. This event is to raise funds for the HRAAD program and to help stray and abandoned dogs. Entry tickets are $10 per person and are good for entry and a raffle ticket. Gorge Grown Farmer’s Market will also be at Springhouse Cellars, so come and enjoy both events.

Lisa Wiltsie of Gorge Dog has again been “leading the charge” to organize this event with the help of HRAAD team members. They already have many great items committed to the auction and much more is on the way!

HRAAD is the volunteer group providing care for all shelter dogs and veterinary care and adoption services for unclaimed dogs at Hood River County’s Hukari Shelter in Odell. HRAAD receives no funds from tax dollars for services provided, operating solely on donations, adoption fees, and funds raised from events like this. HRAAD encourages you to come out, have some fun, and support dogs in need.
