Dan Carothers Jazz show at CEBU Lounge Oct. 14

Jazz pianist Dan Carothers returns to the CEBU Lounge stage with locals Mike Stillman, Henry Schifter, and drummer Mike Grodner for an early show on Wednesday Oct. 14, 6-8 p.m. Expect jazz, blues and romantic French ballads. Best Western Plus Hood River Inn, 1108 E. Marina Way; 541-386-2200.

Four shows for ‘Take Two’

Gorge pianist Ted Horwitz has solo shows this week and is teaming up with jazz singer Laura Cunard:

Saturday, Oct. 10 — "Take Two," Ted Horwitz with Laura Cunard, at Maryhill Winery, 1-5 p.m., 9774 Highway 14, near Goldendale, Wash.

Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11 — Ted Horwitz at the piano, Columbia Gorge Hotel, 6-9 p.m., 4000 Westcliff Dr. in Hood River.

‘Growing Tomorrow’ Author Forrest Pritchard visits Oct. 15, 17

Waucoma Bookstore, Gorge Grown, and the Hood River Chamber of Commerce are hosting author Forrest Pritchard for two events. Pritchard will be discussing his new book, “Growing Tomorrow: A Farm-To-Table Journey in Photos and Recipes” The first event will be on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Hood River Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar (13 Railroad Street, Hood River). The second event will be at Harvest Fest on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hood River waterfront.

Power, Einhorn play Hood River

Visionseekerz at Moth lounge

On Saturday Oct. 10, at 9 p.m. Moth Lounge presents Visionseekerz, a tribal jam band. Admission is free and these folks will rock! Playing a mix of original rock with some covers, this three man band from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs shouldn't be missed.

Tuesday is Open Mic — performers welcome, just sign up and you are on starting at 8:30 p.m. On Fridays it’s Karaoke with Mama Nita, as she spins your favorites starting at 8:30 p.m.

Two nights of comedy at Timberline Lodge Oct. 23-24

Join master of ceremonies Dave Anderson (the Mark and Dave Show) for a weekend of laughs at Timberline Lodge. On October 23-24, six comics with “street cred” will entertain all evening long. Lodging packages are available.

Friday, Oct. 23, 8-10 p.m. — Entertainers include Erin Foley, Andy Hendrickson, and Gabriel Rutledge. Individual tickets are $22.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 8-10 p.m. — Entertainers include Nate Bargatze, Bengt Washburn, and Grant Lyon. Individual tickets are $27.
