River of Life yard sale today will benefit Donovan Doroski

River of Life Assembly of God hosts a yard sale and bake sale fundraiser this weekend for Donovan Doroski, 21, of Odell, in his ongoing battle with cancer.

Doroski, a 2011 Hood River Valley High School graduate, was diagnosed in 2011 with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The sale will help Donovan and his family with ongoing medical costs.

With the watch-phrase “Donovan, you are not in this fight alone,” the congregation has gathered and created a wide selection of household items and baked goods — “something for everyone.”

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 23, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 24.

The church is at 979 Tucker Road, behind Murray’s Furniture and The Next Door, Inc.

‘Trunk or Treat’ returns

Church of Christ, 1512 Tucker Road, brings back its annual Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the church parking lot.

Bring the kids for this safe trick-or-treat event, as they walk from car to car — and trunk to trunk.
