The Nov. 7 date was inadvertently omitted from the midweek edition article (page B10) on the “Fill Your Pantry” event at Rockford Grange, 4250 Barrett Road.
The market will help Gorge residents stock up for winter with storable food products grown and sold by local farmers. This one-day event will run from 2-6 p.m., offering products from over 20 different farm and food businesses in this area. Shoppers can buy in quantity, with many vendors offering discounts for larger volume purchases.
Locally-grown products for sale will include vegetables, dry beans, wheat berries, flours, pancake mix, honey, jams, jellies, meat, dried fruit and more.
OSU Extension staff and Master Food Preservers will be on hand to demonstrate proper food storage and preservation techniques. Grow Organic will demonstrate home-scale food processing equipment. Visitors can also enjoy music by the bluegrass trio Spring Creek Band and share soup and bread offered by Rockford Grange members for a donation.
There will be kid’s activities and information tables from a number of food-related programs in the Gorge. SNAP, EBT, and Veggie Rx payments will be accepted.
