The Horizon co-ed soccer team is headed to the Special District 6 finals after holding off Damascus Christian, 2-1, in Hood River Monday afternoon. Cody Lingel and Makoa Whitaker got things going for the Hawks with goals early in the first half, but Damascus scored one before the end of the first half to make it 2-1. The two teams exchanged volleys in the second half, but neither team could connect, giving Horizon the win. The Hawks now head to Salem Academy Friday at 8 p.m. to face C.S. Lewis Academy in the championship game. C.S. Lewis Academy is the only school to beat Horizon in league play this season, shutting out the Hawks, 1-0, earlier this month.
