School has started but summer fun continues. Hood River Education Foundation hosts a summer party, Sept. 11, 6-10 p.m, in the Ruins at Springhouse Cellar, featuring the band Cripple Hop.

Kids are welcome with a parent. No-host food, wine and beer, plus the music, will create a fun evening for all ages. Admission is free, and the event is a fundraiser for Hood River County Education Foundation.

Donations may be made with a cell phone and credit card.

Cripple-Hop, www.cripple-hop.com, is a popular local FusionGrass band for dancing and listening. The no-host food and bar will feature sponsors Springhouse Cellar wines, and Double Mountain, Pfriem and Full Sail beer.

Donations to the HRCEF support teachers and students. The foundation provides more than 60 college scholarships annually for local students, and over $10,000 annually in grants to teachers for innovative projects. One focus of the new HRCEF Opportunity Campaign is support for middle schools sports and activities by providing scholarships to students who can’t afford participation fees.
