HR Library hosts Songwriters in the Round Sept. 16

Songwriters in the Round, hosted by the ambassador of song Steve Hale, is a program where three songwriters Steven Hale, Tracy Klass, and Lincoln Crockett each take turns playing an original composition and sharing about why and how they wrote it. The event will be held at Hood River Library on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.Three sonically creative artists will present their hand crafted-audio treats to you totally acoustically, regaling beautiful melodies, intriguing chord changes, and compelling stories about their songs.

Patrick Haley at Growlerz

On Friday Sept. 11, from 7-9 p.m. it’s multi-instrumentalist Patrick Haley at Growlerz. Patrick plays “originals, and a collection of roots, blues, country, ballads and instrumentals on guitar, dobro, ukulele, and cigar box guitar.” He hopes to see you there. Bob Connolly at White Buffalo

On Thursday, Sept. 10, Bob Connolly plays for the White Buffalo's complimentary wine tasting. Bob, an outstanding guitar player and vocalist, who grew-up in White Salmon, recently returned from a US tour. Whether at home or on the road, Bob thrills audiences with his rendering of folk, blues, country, rock and swing. White Buffalo Wine Bar & Bistro, 4040 Westcliff Dr., Hood River.

Amber Charms dance Sept. 19

On Saturday, Sept. 19, Scarlet Thistle Studio presents Amber Charms at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River at 7:30 p.m. Showcasing a selection of award-winning performers and internationally acclaimed artists from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond, Amber Charms displays traditional and contemporary interpretations of the ancient art form known as belly dance.

Featured performers: Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman from San Francisco, Cassandra Rose from Salem, 2015 Belly Dancer of the Year, Lucine Dance Company from Portland, Amrita from Portland, Bevin Victoria from Portland, Sasha & Friends from Portland, and the Scarlet Thistle from Hood River.
