Residents and staff at Parkhurst Place put together care packages for firefighters on the front lines near John Day.

Residents and staff of Parkhurst Place Assisted Living have put together care packages for firefighters “battling the front line fires near John Day, Ore.,” reports Community Relations Manager Terri Hansen.

The care packages included items like tissue packs, antibacterial wipes, lip balm, powdered fruit drink mixes, gum and hard candy.

“We are working with the volunteers at the Grant County Fairgrounds/Relief Center to shuttle the items to the fire fighters staying there,” said Hansen. “We want our fire fighters to know that we appreciate their efforts.’
