Big Bingo is back at the Hood River Valley Adult Center on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m., but volunteers are needed to keep it running.
The long-standing fundraiser for the center’s Meals on Wheels program, which provides meals to homebound senior citizens, has a variety of jobs to fill, from callers to cashiers.
Anyone of any age is welcome to help; high school students in particular are being sought to help run the snack bar during the games, as meals are no longer being served.
Help in gathering small prizes, such as gas vouchers or restaurant gift certificates, is also requested.
To volunteer, contact John Buckley at 541-354-1460.
In other HRVAC news, the thrift store is now open five days a week, as follows:
Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon
Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The thrift shop is not open on Sundays or Mondays.
Like with Big Bingo, all proceeds from the thrift shop benefit the center’s Meals on Wheels program.
Everyone is invited to enjoy lunch at the center Monday through Friday from noon until 1 p.m. A donation is suggested.
