Guitars and cider at Slopeswell
Solo guitarists play at 7 p.m. this weekend at Slopeswell Cider Co., on 12th Street on the Heights. On Aug. 12, it’s Noah Tauscher, a 2015 HRVHS grad now studying music in Miami, and on Aug. 13 hear Shilpi Halemane, who brews beer for Logsdon Farmhouse Ales.
‘Pete’s Dragon’ flies quietly
Hood River Cinemas hosts a “sensory-friendly” showing of the new Disney film “Pete’s Dragon,” Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m., with the lights turned up a bit and the sound turned down a bit. All ages are welcome for the morning showing of the PG-rated film. Admission is $5.
Alonzo Garbanzo at Kickstand
It’s a solo show for Alonzo Garbanzo next Saturday, Aug. 13, at Kickstand Coffee, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Expect sounds from 6 and 12 string guitars with a “newly-expanded repertoire of originals and Lead Belly songs.” KickStand Coffee & Kitchen, 1235 State St., Hood River.
