Crestline’s Ken Abercrombie, left, and Bill Ketchum, said Monday that work on the 12th Street utility project may be a few days ahead of the scheduled Sept. 19 completion date. “The worst is behind us,” Ketchum said. Montello Street will see excavation in the next week, but most digging is done on 12th Street, with work focusing on curb-to-curb preparations on 12th Street for repaving the surface. Meanwhile, the 12th Street hospital entrance, in background, remains open during the project.
