Audition for ‘Owen Meany’s Christmas Pageant’ Sept. 8, 10

Plays for Non-Profits, with director Kathleen Morrow, will hold auditions for the play “Owen Meany’s Christmas Pageant” at Riverside Community Church, 317 State St., Hood River, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The play is based on “A Prayer for Owen Meany,” written by John Irving and adapted for the stage by Jane Jones and Myra Platt.

The Plays for Nonprofits production is scheduled for three weekends in December, opening Dec. 3 and closing Dec. 17.

The rehearsals will begin in October and will mostly be Tuesdays at 6 .p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.

There is also a workshop the weekend of Sept. 23.

This workshop will introduce the cast to Book-It’s approach that adapts literature into theater. It should be a great experience for the actors!

The cast of 16-20 will all be adults, but many of the adults will be playing children.
