Waucoma Bookstore in downtown Hood River is hosting authors Jane Kirkpatrick and Rebecca Demarino for a book signing on Friday, Sept. 2 from 5-8 p.m. Kirkpatrick will be signing her new historical fiction book, “This Road We Traveled.” Based on actual events, it’s the story of Tabitha Moffat Brown and how she came to be named by the Oregon legislature as “the Mother of Oregon.” It is also the story of three generations of women who crossed from Missouri to Oregon on the Oregon Trail.

Kirkpatrick is the New York Times and CBA bestselling author of more than 25 books. Her works have been finalists for the Christy Award, Spur Award, Oregon Book Award, and Reader’s Choice awards, and have won the WILLA Literary Award and Carol Award for Historical Fiction. Kirkpatrick lives in Central Oregon with her husband, Jerry.

Demarino will be signing her new book, “To Follow Her Heart,” the third book in the Southold Chronicles series. Demarino is a historical romance author and lives in the Pacific Northwest. She is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers, Romance Writers of America, The Southold Historical Society, and the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
