Pianist Krill Giladkovsky Feb. 12

The Mid-Columbia Community Concert Association brings pianist Krill Giladkovsky to The Dalles on Friday Feb. 12. Giladkovsky will dedicate part of his performance to a Valentines theme. In addition to his concert, talented local youth — Faith Gouge on violin, Cascade Children Choir and the Chenoweth Singing “Cougs” — will perform a few numbers with him.

Giladkovsky began his musical carrier in Moscow at age five, making his first public appearance at six. He holds a Doctor of Music Art degree from USC and has received many national and international awards. The concert venue is the Calvary Baptist Church, 3350 Columbia View Dr., The Dalles, and will start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., tickets at the door.

Kit Garoutte at Lyle hotel

‘Faith and Fossils’ screening Feb. 12 at Discovery Center

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, in partnership with OPB, presents an advance screening of the new OPB Oregon Experience documentary, “Thomas Condon: Of Faith and Fossils,” Friday, Feb. 12, at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, 5000 Discovery Drive, in The Dalles. Fruition, more at River City

Bluegrass-influenced string band rockers Fruition comes to River City on Saturday, Feb. 6. Expect songs from the latest CD “One of Them Nights.”

Coming up on Friday, Feb. 12, it’s Los Angeles-based indie/electronic duo “Ultra Violent Rays,” specializing in “spaced-out, shimmering, hypnotic sonic landscapes.”

Griffin House (the artist) plays Griffin House (the venue)

There are two opportunities to experience an up close and personal house concert with acclaimed singer-songwriter Griffin House for two Valentine's weekend shows on Feb. 13 and 14. Born and raised in Ohio, Griffin House opted to decline a golf scholarship to college in lieu of pursuing his musical gifts. His songwriting is spiked with doses of roots, rock, blues and country — all inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Woody Guthrie, Wilco and Billy Bragg. House has released the majority of his records on his imprint label, Evening Records.
