Ann Harris, second from left, Columbia Gorge Open Campus coordinator with Oregon State University Extension Service in Hood River and Wasco counties, has been awarded the OSUEA Diversity Multicultural Team Award for the statewide Juntos Program during the Extension Services Annual Conference Awards Program held Dec. 9 in Corvallis. Juntos is a college and career readiness program offered by OSU Open Campus in conjunction with Hood River and North Wasco county school districts to Latino students and their families that includes a six-week curriculum plus ongoing support and activities focused on school success and full preparedness for post-secondary education. It has successfully decreased dropout rates and increased post-secondary education access to some of Oregon’s most underserved populations.
