Last week the Excavation Rental Supply (ERS) team won the second round in the Monday night Industrial League at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes. Bowling for the ERS quintet are Jesse Davis, Spencer Johnisee, Zach Mohun, Woody Eskildsen and Mark Chabotte. ERS took the second round with relative ease, topping the next best team by 14.5 points. ERS now joins Randy’s Painting as the top seeds in the playoff for the championship of the Industrial League that will be held at the end of the season. The league still has one more round to go.
Last week’s tenpin action in league play saw Jan Halstead and Judy Mason emerge as co-bowlers of the week. Jan was hotter than a firecracker in July as he climbed over the milestone 700 series mark with a beautiful scratch 702 set that was capped by a solid 252 game in his third stanza. Jan ended up 144 pins over his average — the top performance by anyone in league last week. Looks like Jan is in mid-season form now, with that smooth, easy, down-and-in style of his. His game is based on letting the ball do the work — a method that supports a long career on the lanes. Like just about everybody else, Jan has struggled in the scoring department so far this season, but that’s old news; he appears to be back on track with a vengeance, so look out everybody!
Judy Mason really found the range in the popular Tuesday Nite Mixed League, where she racked up a big-time scratch 217 game. Judy has textbook form: a smooth approach with a solid pose at the foul line, just like we are taught; it’s truly picture perfect! Bunting’s gal Friday finished up 134 pins over her average, the top performance by all women in league action last week. Nice bowling, everybody!
