Celebrate cherries throughout the Hood River Fruit Loop, including the new Packer Orchard Farm Place.
As of Tuesday, July 12, 2016
It’s that time of year when businesses throughout the Hood River Fruit Loop share the bounty of the Hood River Valley, starting with the annual Cherry Celebration.
In honor of the event, Packer’s Orchards Farm Place, 3020 Thomsen Road, will be offering fresh cherries by the pound, cherry pie, cherry jam, cherry salsa, and cherry cookies — along with a few other cherry surprises — in addition to their usual fare that includes jams, jellies, pepper jellies, pies, empanadas, ice cream, smoothies, and lots and lots of cookies.
Here’s what you’ll find during the Cherry Celebration at Packer Orchards Farm Place:
• Cooking Demonstration — watch and learn as we make our tart cherry jam, and taste it warm from the kettle
• Try our fresh homemade cherry salsa with Juantina’s Chips
• Family fun includes cherry pit spitting, face painting, bingo, horse hoops, cherry bowling, cookie walk, bubblegum blowing, and stickers for the kids
And be sure to visit Packer Orchards Bakery too when you’re on the Fruit Loop. Located at 3900 Highway 35 in Hood River—just a seven-mile drive up the road from the Farm Place.
