Hood River Valley High School paid tribute to its artists and writers on Friday, Feb. 26, with an all-school Fine Arts assembly.

Students were recognized for winning entries in the Scholastic Art and Writing awards, with honors given in first (Gold Key), second (Silver Key) and honorable mention categories. Students were informed of their placement on Feb. 3.

The competition is open to students throughout the United States and at American schools overseas. The awards were given at the regional level, with those earning Gold Keys going forward to compete at the national level.
