Church news: Video series begins at Parkdale Baptist

A video series, “The Coming Economic Armageddon” by Rev. David Jeremiah, will be shown at the Parkdale Baptist Church, 6310 Dee Highway, on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. beginning March 6.

The series will continue each Sunday evening through May 8. Goodies will be served after the video. The series is free and all are welcome. For more information call 541-352-6515.

Movie Night at Tucker Road Baptist

Tucker Road Baptist Church, 1455 Tucker Road, is showing “War Room” at a free movie night on Friday, March 4 beginning at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

Vanguard Women’s choir at River of Life

The Vanguard Women’s Choir will present a concert at River of Life Assembly, located at 979 Tucker Road, on March 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Valley Christian holds ‘Food Bank Sunday’

Hood River Valley Christian Church has planned a FISH Food Bank Sunday on March 6, starting with 10:30 a.m. worship, a 4 p.m. site tour at the FISH Food Bank headquarters, 1130 Tucker Road, and a 5-6:30 p.m. Lenten soup supper and study emphasis on hunger.

Lenten events at St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1501 Belmont Ave., has two reoccurring Lenten events open to all: Monday Soup Suppers and Friday Stations of the Cross.

Soup Suppers run from 6-7 p.m. Mondays through March 21 in the church basement. It’s a time to share a meal and fellowship with friends. Bread and soups are provided by different church groups.

Stations of the Cross begins at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays in the church through March 18 and are led by Deacon David Raj, and are bilingual.

Holy week schedule is as follows:

Holy Thursday, March 24 — 5 p.m. English service

Good Friday, March 25 — Stations of the Cross, 3 p.m.; Veneration of the Cross, 5 p.m. in English and 7 p.m. in Spanish

Holy Saturday, March 26 — Vigil Mass, 8 p.m.

Easter Sunday, March 27 — 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Spanish; 10 a.m. in English
