U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) will hold a town hall meeting Friday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Marine Park Pavilion in Cascade Locks.

Walden will give an update on his latest work in Congress, as well as take questions. A major topic will be bipartisan legislation passed by the House last week to combat drug addiction in local communities, especially the opioid crisis. This month, Walden held roundtable meetings with physicians, members of the law enforcement community, and families impacted by drug addiction to discuss how to combat the opioid epidemic in Oregon and across the country.

Walden will also discuss the legislation he has coauthored with Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Portland) to force the Forest Service to complete a land exchange on Mount Hood, as well as his efforts to secure additional federal funding for bridges in the Gorge.

Walden will also hold a meeting in The Dalles on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. at The Dalles Readiness Center 402 E Scenic Dr.
