Hood River Holidays — that time of year when downtown is transformed into a festive wonderland of twinkle lights and holiday cheer — kicks off on Friday, Dec. 2.
Streets will close to traffic from 5-7 p.m. with stores remaining open to foot traffic. The annual parade begins at 6 p.m. east along Oak Street between Seventh and Ninth streets, wrapping back around First Street and then heading west on State, ending at the Hood River News parking lot.
The highlight of the evening — the tree lighting ceremony — takes place at 7 p.m. at the base of Overlook Memorial Park, Second and State streets, with caroling at 7:15 p.m.
Additionally, Hood River Valley High School students will collect food and monetary donations for FISH Food Bank.
Bring the family for an evening of live music, hot cocoa, and Santa.
