‘Strong Women’ classes forming in HR, CL

Three new Strong Women exercise groups will launch this fall in the Gorge: Two in Hood River and one in Cascade Locks.

Organizers have planned an informational meeting for Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Unexpected Blessings, 1090 22nd St., Hood River, at 5:15 p.m. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the program; groups are led by trained volunteers, and are free or have a minimal charge.

The program is sponsored by OSU Extension, which now offers 12 such groups throughout the Gorge at varied times. A program has already been established for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Mt. Hood Town Hall at 9:30 a.m., taught by Ann Dow, with a $10 monthly fee. New groups in Hood River and Cascade Locks are scheduled as follows:

• Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15 p.m. at Unexpected Blessings, SDA Church, 1090 22nd St., Hood River; contact Elizabeth Hardy, elizabethanne_57@hotmail.com or 509-540-5042; slated to start Sept. 26
