Free admission at Discovery Center Sept. 24

Smithsonian magazine designates Saturday, Sept. 24 as the 12th annual Museum Day Live! Participating museums in the Mid-Columbia area include Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Fort Dalles Museum, who open their doors for free for the day to those who present a Museum Day Live! ticket, downloaded at www. /museumday/.

Each ticket grants the ticketholder and one guest free access to any one participating museum on Sept. 24. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address. You must print your ticket and present it to receive your free admission or have it accessible on your mobile device.

“Museum Day Live! unites a spectacular array of museums across the country around Smithsonian’s commitment to make knowledge accessible to everyone,” says Stephen Giannetti, Chief Revenue Officer of Smithsonian Enterprises.

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum and research complex consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park and nine research facilities. Approximately 30 million people from around the world visit the museums annually.
