Solera celebrates April 15

It’s a five year anniversary for Solera Brewing on Saturday, April 15. Featured music includes locals Ryan McAlexander, experimental rock band Voodoo Voltage, and a high energy set from Portland’s Quick and Easy Boys. The party starts at noon, minors allowed until 7 p.m. Expect special guest bartenders, special beer tastings and a special bottle release.

Coming up Friday, April 21, 7-10 p.m.: Bearcoon (California based folk duo)

Saturday, April 29, 7-10 p.m.: PT Barton (Husum-based one man band)

Take Two at TD Eagles April 8

Join the Take Two Band — Ted and Kim, and everybody's favorite local celebrity, Jeff Minnick, on drums on Saturday, April 8, at The Dalles Eagles, from 7-11 p.m. The band wants you to bring all your friends and get ready to hit that big beautiful dance floor. The Eagles Lodge, 2006 W. Seventh St., The Dalles.

Country Dance April 8

The Mid Columbia Folklore Society hosts the Second Saturday Country Dance on April 8, from 7-9 p.m.

Dance lessons will begin at 7 p.m. All ages welcome. No partner required. Family friendly. All dances walked through first time. Enjoy an evening of country squares, contras, circle dances and a few waltzes.

The dance will be at the Rockford Grange, on Barrett Road, Hood River. $6 for members, $7 for non-members, $1 for youth 16 and under. Please bring treats for break time.

Secret Salsa Society April 14

Secret Salsa Society hosts an all-levels Bachata class and Latin social dance with visiting instructors, Lynn Winkle and Mark Stauffer on Friday, April 14 at Mt View Grange in White Salmon.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m., lesson begins at 7:30 p.m. and social dancing follows at 9 p.m. Beginners encouraged. No dance experience or partner is necessary. All ages are welcome. Admission is $10 for the lesson and dance.

Open Mic at Thirsty Woman

Are you thirsty? Do you have songs to share with an audience? Then the place to be is the Tuesday night Open Mic at Mosier’s Thirsty Woman pub hosted by singer/guitarist Lesley Saunders. The crowd is welcoming and you’ll be surprised at the variety of styles you’ll hear from local musicians. — Jim Drake
