‘Positive Approach to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care’ April 20

On Thursday, April 20 from 1-5 p.m., Oregon Care Partners will host a free, instructor-led class, “Positive Approach to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care,” designed to help anyone caring for an aging Oregonian to develop positive approaches to behavioral challenges common in those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The four-hour class, held at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, 810 12th St., is free of charge thanks to funding from the State of Oregon and partnerships with non-profits including the Alzheimer’s Association and Oregon Health Care Association. A professional instructor will share real-world experience in an interactive classroom environment.

Individuals who provide care for an aging family member or loved one, as well as those who work in professional caregiver settings, public safety or social work, are especially invited.

This is so wonderful; families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's can use all the support and training they can possibly obtain. More helpful resources for Alzheimer's caregivers can be found here: http://www.hoodrivernews.com/news/201...
