Everything from hats — kids and adults, 55 total — and mittens (nine) to scarves (19) and shawls (14) were created by area knitters. “The response is always so impressive,” said Keller, who heads up the collection, with Ellsworth acting as agency liaison. Items will be donated to the Warming Shelter operated by Hood River Shelter Services, The Dalles Warming Place, The Next Door, Helping Hands Against Violence Women’s Shelter and the City of Cascade Locks to include in FISH food baskets.
