The 2016-17 winter storm persists this week with snow advisories continued overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday, with more snow expected Wednesday — another 10-15 inches in the Gorge. Serious traffic impacts happened on Interstate 84 and Highway 35 Tuesday morning when new snowfall created hazardous road conditions. Wy’east Fire District personnel were called to the Odell Highway junction to assist with traffic after multiple spin-outs and truck jackknife incidents occurred, and in Hood River steep Ninth Street was closed to traffic at Oak.

Hood River County School District was closed Tuesday for the second straight day; see hoodrivernews.com for a list of ongoing closures and other storm details.
