Over the next two weeks, school kids will be bringing home art, science, and writing and other projects after a year’s hard work and inspiration.
Many of these will be kept, and for good reason. But whether they are destined for the walls at home, a memory box, or a filing cabinet, consider another place to let them shine:
Hood River County Fair.
Open Class art, collections, clothing, photography, hobbies and handicraft, food preservation, and other entry categories are excellent destinations for citizens’ (not just kids!) expressions of creativity, imagination, and passion. Running July 26-29, the fair may seem like a distant event, but in a sense the fair is just around the corner.
Information about how to enter, and all matters County Fair, is in the 90th annual Hood River County Fair book, available now at Little Bit Ranch Supply in Hood River, Mid Valley Market and the Odell Post Office, McIsaac’s and Jim’s Market in Parkdale, and Columbia Market in Cascade Locks. They can also be picked up at the Hood River County Fair Office, Chamber of Commerce, Juanita’s, Columbia State Bank and the Hood River Library.
