Gorge Pride event at AniChe

Shakespeare audition May 6-7
Plays for Non Profits announces auditions for an August 2017 production of Shakespeare's “A Midsummer Night's Dream.” Auditions will be held in the Hood River County Library Meeting Room, downstairs and across from the Children's Library, on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 from 2-5 p.m.
Interested individuals should prepare a short Shakespearean soliloquy or sonnet and will have opportunities to participate in group readings of the script.
The play will be performed at Stonehedge Gardens during the first two weekends in August. Directed by Lisa Roth and produced by Lynda Dallman.

Tillinghast at White Buffalo
On Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m., songwriter Richard Tillinghast — known for his melodic, acoustic porch-side rythms, story-telling and sense of humor — performs at the White Buffalo. White Buffalo Winebar & Bistro, 4040 Westcliff Drive, Hood River.
River City comedy May 5
Hood River’ River City Saloon will have live comedy on the first Friday of every month. Hosted by Portland comedian Dusty York, “Comedy Night at River City Saloon” features the best comedy the Pacific Northwest has to offer. The May 5 show features Amanda Martin-Tully, Darin Thompson and Jason Treager. It's a free show, from 7-9 p.m. Expect tables and chairs on the dance floor for a comedy club feel. KMSW and Bicoastal radio personality Steve “SQURL” Curley celebrates 25 years being on the air with his locally sponsored blues revue show on Saturday, May 6, from 7-10 p.m at the radio station, 719 E. Country Dance May 13
The Mid Columbia Folklore Society hosts the Second Saturday Country Dance on May 13, from 7-9 p.m.
Dance lessons will begin at 7 p.m. All ages welcome. No partner required. Family friendly. All dances walked through first time. Enjoy an evening of country squares, contras, circle dances and a few waltzes.
The dance will be at the Rockford Grange, on Barrett Road, Hood River. $6 for members, $7 for non-members, $1 for youth 16 and under. Please bring treats for break time.
