A celebration of music, history of Flamenco May 20
The Hood River Library will host a celebration of the music and the history of Flamenco with guitar, castanets, cajon, hand-clapping and a great deal of duende (spirit) on May 20 at 6 p.m. This program will feature Joel Kabakov on the flamenco guitar and Antonia Rojas on the castanets and cajon. The married duo have collaborated as composer, guitarist, dancer and choreographer their entire married life. Kabakov holds degrees in music from University of California-Berkeley, California State University and Harvard University. Rojas was formerly principal dancer with the Jose Greco Company.
