A celebration of music, history of Flamenco May 20

The Hood River Library will host a celebration of the music and the history of Flamenco with guitar, castanets, cajon, hand clapping and a great deal of duende (spirit) on May 20 at 6 p.m. This program will feature Joel Kabakov on the flamenco guitar and Antonia Rojas on the castanets and cajon. The married duo have collaborated as composer, guitarist, dancer and choreographer their entire married life. Kabakov holds degrees in music from University of California-Berkeley, California State University and Harvard University. Rojas was formerly principal dancer with the Jose Greco Company.

Take Two Trio plays May 20

On Saturday, May 20, it’s music from the Take Two Trio — Ted Horwitz (keys), Kim Beyers (guitar) and Andree Yost (vocals), at Route 30 Bottles & Brews, from 7-10 p.m. Route 30 Bottles & Brews, 317 E. Second St., The Dalles; 541-993-3155.

Saunders & Williams at White Buffalo Thursday

Lesley Saunders and Kerry Williams perform at the White Buffalo on Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m. Saunders, guitar/vocals, brings acoustic rock and ballads to the Buffalo stage. Chic Preston at The Pines

Coming up at The Pines:

May 21 — Ammunition Armour, 5-6:30 p.m.

Come welcome Ammunition Armour for their Solera Brewery debut. This is an earlier evening show with music starting at 5 p.m.
