Friends of the Columbia Gorge will present a donation in honor of Hood River County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Division at the Monday meeting of the Board of Commissioners, which starts at 6 p.m.

Members of the public contributed the funds in appreciation of the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Division's efforts in the Eagle Creek wildfire.

Friends of the Columbia Gorge will present a special check for $46,140, on behalf of over 520 donors, in appreciation of the efforts of the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Division to aid trapped hikers at the onset of the Eagle Creek fire. The presentation will be made at the start of the meeting. Sheriff Matt English will be on hand, along with Kevin Gorman, Friends executive director, and David Michalek, Friends board member.

The meeting will be in the ground floor County Commissioner meeting room, 601 State St.
