Oct. 23 event: ‘Responding to Immigration through the Eyes of Faith’

Rev. Alex Salvatierra, an author and organizer, will speak Oct. 23 in a program entitled, “Responding to Immigration through the Eyes of Faith,” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hood River Alliance Church sanctuary, 2650 Montello Ave. (corner of Montello Avenue and Rand Road). Spanish and English interpretation will be provided. Contact Andy Wade at msa.andrew@gmail.com for more information.

The gathering is for people from congregations and faith-based groups currently working on local immigration issues and anyone wanting to deepen their faith-filled response to the immigration crisis.

Salvatierra currently serves as a consultant (training, facilitating, organizing and leading strategic planning) for a variety of national and international organizations, including World Vision USA/World Vision International/Women of Vision, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and the Christian Community Development Association. She has been a national leader in the areas of working poverty and immigration for over 20 years, including the co-founding of the national Evangelical Immigration Table (a very broad coalition of evangelical leaders and institutions advocating for immigration reform).
