Hood River Therapy offers Mommy Wellness classes

Mothers and their babies, from birth to 2 years old, are the focus of a series of free Mommy Wellness classes at Hood River Therapy, 33 Nichols Parkway Suite 350 (new location), on Tuesdays from May 8 through June 26, from noon to 1 p.m. Mothers are encouraged to wear comfortable exercise clothing and bring along their little ones.

Hood River County Reads starts a two-book season

Hood River County Reads, a county-wide project sponsored by Friends of the Library, kicked off March 17 at the Hood River Library. This year’s selections, “Moreno. Prieto. Brown.” by Alejandro Jimenez and “brown girl dreaming” by Jacqueline Woodson — both works of poetry — were distributed.

Wind turbine design competition and fair fosters STEM skills, fun learning environment

Students from around the Gorge took part in the 5th annual Google Wind Challenge on Saturday, March 17 at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center in The Dalles. This year, more than 190 students from 16 local high schools and middle schools competed to build the competition’s top turbines. First place in high school and middle school categories went to Pacific Crest Innovation Academy and STEMINIST2, Henkle Middle School.
