Sheriff’s Department seeks input

Judge upholds $36.6 million Eagle Creek restitution

In a six-page ruling, Circuit Court Judge John A. Olson on Monday upheld all but a fraction of the $36.6 million in restitution requested by the Hood River County District Attorney’s Office that a Vancouver youth pay for damages in the September 2017 Eagle Creek fire.

Convicted sex offender re-arrested

On May 7, detectives from the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office arrested 77 year old Kenneth Gordon Lolley, of Hood River, for sex abuse. Lolley was the former owner/operator of a Tucker Road pottery store, where he taught classes to adults and children.

Hood River hiker injured at Middle Falls Trail

On May 8 at approximately 2:38 p.m., the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured hiker near the overlook at Middle Falls Trail, off the USFS 90 road, approximately 37 miles east of Cougar, Wash. The initial report was the hiker fell off the trail and was unresponsive.
