Port evaluates success of waterfront parking plan

Local ‘Stop Dollar General’ group to host town hall

A group of upper valley residents aiming to stop Dollar General, a Tennessee-based chain of variety stores, from building a store in Mt. Hood will hold a town hall Aug. 28, 6 p.m., in the gym at the Mt. Hood Town Hall, as part of their community effort to “Keep Mt. Hood Local.”

County decides on STR direction

The Hood River County Board of Commissioners decided upon a direction to take short term rental (STR) regulations after its Aug. 20 public hearing, and county staff will present either a draft of updated regulations or a timeframe at the commission’s Oct. 15 meeting.

After some delay, Hood River County Board of Commissioners is meeting again to deliberate what to do about short term rental (STR) regulations. Tuesday is election day

Turnout is at 23.5 percent as of Friday morning in the May 15 Primary Election. That’s 3,341 ballots out of the 14,207 issued. The deadline is 8 p.m. on May 15 to submit ballots in the wide-ranging Primary Election.
