HRV girls fall on the road to Hermiston

The HRV girls basketball team headed into league play with an 8-6 record, but after dropping their first two games of league, they’re now 8-8 and .500 on the season for the first time since they were 2-2 in early December.

HRV cheer places fourth at first competition

After a 2016-17 season fraught with snow cancellations that allowed HRV cheer only one opportunity to compete, the cheerleaders were able to make it onto the mat last Saturday at David Douglas High School for their first competition of the season and have already tied last season’s total number of competitions.

Local fisherman Greg Short and the Hood River Watershed Group are hosting their annual Steelhead and Spring Chinook Fishing one-day clinic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. HRV wrestling beats Bend then follows with top-finishes at Elks

HRV wrestling had their biggest weekend of the season this past weekend, with a thrilling home dual matchup against Bend on Jan. 19. The following day, Jan. 20, the team hosted its annual Elks Tournament. Against Bend, both the boys and girls were victorious against the Lava Bears.

Horizon girls move to 4-3 in league play

After dropping their first home league game of the season last Tuesday night against South Wasco County, the girls finished the week with a close 44-40 road loss to Sherman, following the loss up Saturday evening with a win at home versus Condon/Wheeler by a final score of 62-50.
