With Valentine's Day just around the corner, many sweethearts and friends are looking for a special way to share their sentiments.
Candy Land, the old-fashioned confection boutique, is back in business with some new, enthusiastic owners in a unique location.
Roger and Lindamay Woosley, a couple whose long marriage may serve as an inspiration for Valentine's advice seekers, reopened Candy Land in their small shop at 1115 Hull St. in November.
"People are starting to discover the candy store has moved here," said Roger, whose existing "Tricycling Along" antique store and deli has already been discovered by many locals seeking home-cooked lunches and baked goods.
The Woosleys have recently revamped the candy display at Tricycling Along and plan on some special treats for Valentine's Day.
"Roger will be able to make deliveries for people in the area on the 14th," said Lindamay.
The couple will be offering fine chocolates and assorted specialty candies presented in teacups, mugs, heart-shaped boxes and decorated packages, but advise that people don't need to wait.
"We are open six days a week and the candy is always available," Lindamay said.
"Try the sour belts," says Roger. "They are very popular."
Best times to visit the sweets station, at 1115 Hull St., is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
