Lettie Leona Cannon, 75, of Hood River, Ore., passed away at the Providence Medical Center in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 20, 2011. A time of visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 27, and Friday, Oct., 28, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9-11 a.m. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River.

Lettie was born to Blaine and Ruth (Allery) Turner in Brush, Colo., on Feb. 17, 1936. She met Billy Gene Cannon in high school and the two were married in Stevenson, Wash., on Feb. 21, 1953. Together they settled and raised their family in Hood River, Ore.

Lettie was a homemaker who loved to garden, crochet, cook, sew and create ceramics. She also enjoyed camping with family and trips to the Oregon Coast beach.

Survivors include her children of Hood River: daughter and son-in-law Diana and Doug Cookston, daughter Terry Cannon, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Bob Mason, and son and daughter-in-law Dan and Maria Cannon.

She is also survived by brother Marvin Lane, of Wisconsin, and sister Patty Allery-Lane, of Umatilla, Ore.; nine grandchildren: Christine, Jeremy, Misty, Jesse, Chad, Dejay, Amy, Jaydea and Billy; and 11 great-grandchildren: Ian, Joe, Kelcie, Courtney, Caicye, Kaiydon, Koalbe, Skylar, Coral, Jayden and Kaily.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Cannon, in March 2007, sister Betty Cunning and brother Blaine Turner.
