Jane Stanphill, 84, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Hood River Care Center. No services will be held at this time.

Jane was born to Lloyd and Estelle M. (Swartwood) Griffith in Twin Oaks, Okla., on Aug. 24, 1927. During the 1950s she was very proud to have worked in the aircraft industry as a riveter for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. Another special point in her life was the opportunity to work on the election committee for candidate John F. Kennedy.

Over the years she has greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, including her special times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included crocheting and reading.

Jane is survived by her son, Larry Stanphill, of Hood River; daughter Sandi Lain, of Hood River; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
