Tom L. Brazille, a Cascade Locks, Ore., resident, died March 30, 2009, at Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at the Port of Cascade Locks Gorge Pavilion. A reception will follow.
Tom was born Aug. 19, 1956, in Hugo, Ore., to Harold and Mary (Kolkow) Brazille. He was raised and educated in the Hugo area, graduating from Grants Pass High School and attending Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Ore.
Tom worked as a logger in southern Oregon and then logged in Alaska for five years. He came to Cascade Locks in 1988. In 1989 he and Twyla Bilyeu were married at Cascade Locks Community Church.
Tom worked for Slayden Construction for 19 years, starting as a laborer, then served his apprenticeship to become a journeyman carpenter, and finished his career with Slayden Construction as superintendent. He enjoyed hiking, hunting and working on the family retreat home in Goldendale, Wash.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Harold Brazille.
He is survived by his wife, Twyla Brazille, of Cascade Locks; sons Aaron Brazille, of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Levi Brazille, of Cascade Locks; daughter, Lacey Brazille, of Cascade Locks; mother, Mary Baird, of Hudson, Fla.; brothers Nick Brazille, of Craig, Alaska, and Kim Brazille, of Birch Bay, Wash.; and sisters Christina Snell, of Ohiowa, Neb., Elaine Lester, of Darrington, Wash., and Kathy Connoly, of Spring Hill, Fla. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
