Michael Kennedy passed away July 30, 2010, at 60 years of age. Born Aug. 8, 1949, near Southgate, Calif., Michael enjoyed his childhood and young adulthood in the sunny city of Los Angeles. He graduated from Western High School in Bueno Park, Calif., after which he worked for his father as a machinist making aircraft parts.
In 1995, Michael moved to Mosier, Ore., where he became the family collector, mechanic and metal detector extraordinaire.
He was a handyman at heart, always taking the time necessary to repair common household utilities. As such, Michael always felt comfortable taking the wheel, so to speak, in matters dealing with intricate parts and assembly.
Michael worked for the city council of Mosier where he made many life-long friends and acquaintances.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Haupt, of Mosier, Ore., aunt, Virginia Grider, and many cousins, distant family members and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his two brothers, David and Stephen Kennedy, as well as his father, Gordon Kennedy.
