James Millard Brenneman, 83, of Snowden, Wash., died peacefully on Oct. 28, 2010, from natural causes.
He was born in Salmon, Idaho, Sept. 10, 1927. He graduated from the University of Idaho, where he met and married Margaret Rae Payne.
He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired after 20 years as lieutenant colonel and settled with his family in Salem, Ore., where he lived with his wife until her death in 2005.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, son Raymond and grandson Ryan.
He is survived by his two remaining children, Mary Brenneman, of Hood River, Ore., and James Michael Brenneman, of Tempe, Ariz., along with three grandsons: Reed Brenneman, of Bend, Ore., James Nicholas Brenneman, of Boise, Idaho, and Ross Brenneman, of Salem, Ore.
A memorial potluck was held Sunday, Oct. 31, at Mary Brenneman’s residence in Hood River.
The family is asking that any donations be made to Hospice of the Gorge.
