Elizabeth Cook Fouch passed away on Nov. 26, 2011, at the age of 92 in Hood River, Ore., surrounded by family.
Elizabeth was born Jan. 19, 1919, to parents Adrian and Helen Cook, of Dunnigan, Calif. She attended Dunnigan Grammar School and Woodland and Pierce High School, graduating in 1937. She went on to study at the University of California at Davis and Berkley.
On Aug. 21, 1938, she married John Adam Fouch, of Maxwell. They worked together in the Fouch's Drugstore in Maxwell until 1957. At that time they purchased the Fouch and Son Pharmacy in Williams. Elizabeth was buyer for the store while John was the pharmacist.
In 1967 she enjoyed building a new home in Williams, where they lived for the next 30-plus years.
Elizabeth was an active member of Junior Women's Club, Maxwell Tuesday Club, XI Sigma Kappa Beta Sigma Phi, 4-H Clothing leader, Red Cross swimming instructor, and several bridge clubs.
Elizabeth was a beloved grandma and great-grandma. She was a very active part of her grandchildren's lives while they were growing up, spoiling them with all of the love and attention that she had to give. Elizabeth was an important and integral part of their lives.
She is survived by son Arthur Fouch and his wife, Cathy; grandson John Fouch, his wife Shelley and their children, Jada and Camryn; and granddaughter Tracy Jones, her husband Craig and their daughter, Willow.
Graveside services will be held at the Williams, California Cemetery on Dec. 19 at 11 a.m., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, John.
