Thomas A. Ocel, 66, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home after a long battle with lung disease.
He was born April 27, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minn., to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Ocel.
On Nov. 5, 1966, he married Kathy Ellis. They had two children. In 1978, he moved his family to Hood River, Ore., to pursue his passion of being a spray pilot. In the following 30 years, he worked in that business in many states across this country.
He is survived by Kathy, his wife of 44 years, and son Kris; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Bill Sandin, of Elk River, Minn.; mother-in-law Bea Ellis of Mesa, Ariz.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carolyn and David Cauton of Laurie, Mo.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Amy in 2005.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Tom's life to be held at the Malin Park Recreation Hall on July 1 from 2-5 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date.
