Lonnie Cardinal Branham, 70, of Hood River, Ore., passed away June 5, 2011, surrounded by family at his home.
Lonnie was born Nov. 22, 1940, at Greasy Creek, Ky., to Alfred and Marie (Prater) Branham.
He moved to North Plains, Ore., at age 13, and just had his high school reunion where he had a wonderful time visiting and talking with old classmates.
Lonnie went into the United States Navy during the Vietnam War at the age of 17, serving on an ammunition ship, with honor. After serving his country he went back home to Hillsboro, Ore., for many years.
Lonnie married Sandra (Middleton) Branham and raised three children: Shantel Branham Castellion, Jace Branham and Tony Branham. After their children graduated from Hillsboro High School he moved to Hood River, Ore. (Cooper Spur area), with his wife, Sandy, over 25 years ago, where he worked in construction, as a builder.
Lonnie loved fishing, hunting, traveling, NASCAR and life itself. His most sacred love was the Lord and his family.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and touched many people's lives; he will be missed but not ever forgotten. "Good job, my faithful and loyal servant!"
