Halcie Irene Massie, 83, of Vancouver, Wash., died Nov. 6, 2011. She was born April 13, 1928, in Orsino, Brevard County, Fla., to Lynn Milton and Dora (Clem) Dewey. She graduated from high school in Cocoa, Fla.
Halcie married Tom F. Massey, a marriage that lasted 58 years until his death in 2007. She worked as a mother and loving wife, and also served as choir director, soloist (soprano) and adult women's Bible teacher in her Southern Baptist church.
She liked fishing, directing and listening to music, visiting with young children and reading God's word.
Halcie was a resident of the Hampton Alzheimer's Community in Vancouver, Wash., from May to November, 2011.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard, and sisters Dona, Loramae and Francis.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Franklin Massey and Henry Lynn Massey, and two grandchildren.
Halcie will be laid to rest beside her husband on Nov. 12 at El Comino Memorial Park in San Diego, Calif., with a private service, as she requested.
